Youth Speed Training in Metro Manila

Manila's first dedicated youth speed academy — coaching athletes 6–18, every sport, from beginner to elite. We bring diagnostic-led, evidence-based speed training to your area of Metro Manila.

Manila's First Dedicated Youth Speed Academy

NextGen Speed Academy was built on a single conviction: speed is trainable, and every young athlete deserves access to proper speed coaching. Founded by head coach John Gotladera, NextGen is the Philippines' first academy dedicated entirely to developing speed and athleticism in youth athletes — not as a side feature of a sports camp, but as the curriculum itself.

Most youth training in Metro Manila focuses on sport-specific skills, conditioning circuits, or general fitness. What was missing was structured, evidence-based speed development — the kind that teaches acceleration mechanics, maximum velocity running, force production, and reactive athleticism through deliberate practice and objective measurement.

Who We Train

We work with athletes aged 6 to 18, across every sport. Football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, swimming, tennis, fencing, track and field — the sport does not matter. Speed is a foundational athletic quality, and every athlete benefits from developing it properly.

  • Beginners who want to move better, feel more coordinated, and build confidence in their athleticism
  • Developing athletes who play recreational or competitive club sport and want a measurable edge
  • Elite-level athletes who are already fast and want to compete at the highest level of their sport

You do not need to be fast to start. You need to want to get faster.

"Speed is the one athletic quality that gives your child an advantage in every sport they will ever play. We teach it the right way — structured, measured, and built for the long term."

How Our Mobile Academy Works Across Metro Manila

NextGen Speed Academy operates as a mobile training academy — we do not have a fixed single venue. Instead, our sessions are distributed across Metro Manila based on scheduling, athlete groupings, and the areas where our families are located. This model allows us to bring quality speed coaching closer to you, rather than requiring a long commute across the metro.

Areas We Commonly Train Across

We run sessions in and around the following areas, though availability at each location depends on current scheduling and group formation:

  • Makati and the central business district area
  • Taguig / BGC and the southern CBD corridor
  • Pasig and surrounding communities
  • Quezon City, including the northern Metro Manila catchment
  • Mandaluyong and the Ortigas area
  • Parañaque and the Las Piñas corridor
  • Alabang / Muntinlupa and the south

If your area is not on this list, reach out — we may have a session nearby or one forming. We regularly expand into new areas as new athlete groups come together.

How to Find Your Session

Tell us where you are located in Metro Manila and we will recommend the nearest available venue and training group. Sessions are scheduled around athlete groupings by age, level, and geography — so your child trains with peers at a similar stage of development, close to home.

The best way to get started is to message us on Instagram at @nextgen.speed, call us at (+63) 917 510 0385, or email train@nextgenspeedacademy.com. We will respond with current session availability for your area.

Evidence-Based Speed Training With Measured Outcomes

At NextGen, every athlete starts with a diagnostic. Before training begins, we establish a clear baseline using professional-grade tools: timing gates, jump mats, and video analysis. This is not a fitness test — it is a performance profile that tells us exactly where your child is starting and what needs to be developed first. You can read more about the diagnostic process on The NextGen Speed Analysis.

What the Data Shows

Across our programs, athletes who train consistently demonstrate measurable improvement in sprint performance — tracked through timing gates and the same 30m 4-point start protocol used at every assessment.

  • Athletes in our 2-month camp programs have shown improvements of up to 0.4 seconds off a 30m sprint — equivalent to approximately 4 meters of distance advantage
  • Athletes in our 7-month development programs have shown improvements of up to 0.8 seconds — a difference that, at competitive level, is the gap between first and last
  • Every 0.1 second improvement is worth approximately 1 meter of distance at match pace

These are honest, measured outcomes from real athletes training through our system — not marketing averages. Individual results depend on starting point, consistency, and the athlete's commitment to the process.

Programs: 12-Week Development, Speed Foundations, and Elite

Our core programs run on a 12-week development cycle and are structured around two tracks: Speed Foundations for athletes building core speed mechanics and movement quality for the first time, and Elite for athletes who are already competing at a high level and want to sharpen their edge.

We're now enrolling · group slots open — our weekly group program is open to new athletes across all sports and levels. Prefer an intensive kickstart? Our Speed Camps run alongside the weekly program. You can also explore our full program structure on the main page.

Speed is not a gift. It is a skill. And like any skill, it responds to quality coaching, structured practice, and consistent effort over time.
