What Is the NextGen Athlete Journal?

The NextGen Athlete Journal is a free printable workbook designed by NextGen Speed Academy for young athletes aged 7 to 15. It's not just about sport — it's about helping your child develop the mindset, habits, and self-awareness that separates good athletes from great ones.

What's Inside?

Why I Play Sports

Helps your child discover their deeper "why" and build a strong athletic identity.

My Favorite Athlete

Teaches resilience by researching a real athlete's hardships and how they overcame them.

My Big Dreams

A vision and goal-setting page with a space for a personal vision board.

Train to Dominate Creed

NextGen's core athlete philosophy: dominating training, sleep, nutrition, mindset, recovery, and consistency.

Daily Fuel Tracker

A 7-day nutrition checklist (takes 10 seconds a day) to build healthy eating habits.

Weekly Journal

A weekly reflection on training, effort, sleep, recovery, and mindset — with a coach accountability check.

Lessons From Losing

A safe, supportive page that teaches kids to learn from setbacks instead of fearing them.

The NextGen Athlete Promise

A signed pledge (athlete + parent) committing to effort, discipline, respect, and healthy habits.

Why We Made This

At NextGen Speed Academy, we believe athletic greatness isn't built only in physical training. It's built in the choices your child makes every day — what they eat, how they sleep, how they respond to failure, and how they show up even when they don't feel like it.

The NextGen Athlete Journal gives your child a simple, structured way to reflect, grow, and take ownership of their development. It's designed for kids who want to be more than just fast — they want to become complete athletes and strong people.

It's free. It's printable. And it might just be one of the most powerful tools your child uses this season.

How to Use It

  1. Print the one-time pages (Cover, Why I Play, Favorite Athlete, Big Dreams, Creed, Athlete Promise) once at the start of the season.
  2. Print the Daily Fuel Tracker once a week — your child ticks boxes each day (10 seconds).
  3. Print the Weekly Journal once a week — your child fills it in at the end of the week (10–15 minutes).
  4. Review it together weekly — celebrate consistency, not perfection.
  5. Share with their coach so everyone is aligned on the athlete's goals and mindset.

Every champion started somewhere. This is where your NextGen athlete starts.
